This piece was created in the fall of 2024 during a bout of crippling depression. Like so many of us, I have spent far too much time worrying about how I might keep my family safe and together in the face of so much right wing hatred. Many tearful conversations have been had discussing how we might manage to find a new home in a faraway place where our transgender child would be welcomed and can continue to access the healthcare that has saved her.

Lately I am doing my best to focus on the days in between. The days where we've shared laughter with loved ones and experienced the joy of beautiful days and being alive. The Days In Between is about finding light in the darkness.
